Since the dawn of time, wine and wood have shared a love affair. Historically, wine cellars were made of wood, and wine is always matured in a wooden barrel before being bottled. Today, choosing solid wood furniture for your bar or wine cellar reflects a desire for eco-responsibility. If you're committed to respecting our beautiful planet, using wood from sustainably managed forests for your furniture will help.
- Wood, a natural and noble material
- Optimized furnishings
- Eco-responsibility at the heart of our values
Wood, a natural and noble material
When it comes to furnishing your bar or wine cellar, choose solid wood furniture to reflect your eco-responsible values. At Tradis, we use only solid pine from certified sustainably managed forests, and solvent-free products for finishes.
In addition to its noble, natural appearance, wood is very robust. The pine we work with is a soft, low-density raw material, making it lighter and therefore easier to transport when you need to move the furniture in your wine cellar. Stable and naturally rot-proof, pine is fungus-resistant and renowned for its durability. So you can be sure of keeping your furniture in place for many years to come. A further eco-green gesture when furnishing your wine cellar or bar! Maintaining your solid wood furniture is easy, as a simple wipe with a damp cloth is all it takes. You can also add a coat of varnish or oil to reinforce its protection and prevent stains.
Thanks to its abundance in Europe, solid pine remains an affordable wood, compared to oak or other rarer varieties. In addition to respecting the planet's resources as much as possible, Tradis manufactures and sells solid wood furniture at prices its customers can afford.
For example, to furnish your bar or wine cellar, discover our :
- wine racks to store all your bottles of wine ;
- wine displays to showcase your star bottles and encourage customers to buy them;
- wine tasting station to organize convivial moments with your loyal customers or prospective customers;
- reception counters for customer check-out, ideal for displaying your accessories, which can be a “must-have” purchase for customers at checkout.
Optimised layout
Once you've given some thought to the eco-friendly solid wood furniture that might be suitable for your bar or wine cellar, it's time to think about the organization of your space. It's essential to respect a few merchandising rules to encourage your customers to buy.
Direction of circulation
Right from the front of your cellar or wine bar, customers need to be attracted! Remember to showcase your star products in a beautifully decorated window. Don't hesitate to take seasonal variations into account, changing the decoration and the products on display. Once you're through the door, the best thing to do is to place your “calling card” products so that they're clearly visible. Then arrange your products by range on attractive solid wood shelves, thinking about your customers' future path. When designing the flow of traffic, remember to place your “favorite” products, such as stop-drops and corkscrews, close to the checkout, as these are often impulse purchases.
Lighting
Always with a view to highlighting the products in your wine cellar or bar, choose subdued lighting to create a warm atmosphere. Install LED bulbs to save energy and help the environment. You can place spotlights above certain displays to catch your customers' eye.
Decoration
For an eco-friendly decor, opt for green plants! Invite nature into your premises, particularly around your organic products if you offer them. Plants also have the ability to absorb CO2, which is important when you're welcoming lots of customers at the same time. Similarly, you can purchase second-hand wine glasses for your tastings, always with a view to eco-responsibility. Last but not least, our solid wood furniture is sure to add a natural spirit to your eco-friendly decor. Their different finishes allow you to choose the color that best matches the rest of your decor: Blanc Camarillo, Noir Charbonneux, or simply Bois Vieilli.
Eco-responsibility at the heart of our values
As artisan manufacturers, we are committed to enhancing the value of wood, not denaturing it. We encourage good environmental practices within our company in France and our manufacturing workshop in Poland, just a few kilometers from the pine forests we use.
To limit our carbon footprint, we keep transport distances to a minimum: raw materials are sourced from Polish pine forests, then solid wood furniture is manufactured in our factory and transported directly to France, Luxembourg and Belgium. We really do operate a short circuit with our sawmill.
Each of our products is unique, since it's handcrafted with solvent-free finishes for a better respect of the planet, but also of your health. You can furnish your bar or wine cellar with natural products without fear.
As you can see, by choosing solid wood furniture, you can furnish your bar or wine cellar in an eco-responsible way. You'll be able to respect the values you wish to convey when you open your premises. At Tradis, you'll find quality, durable, sturdy furniture that will give your bar or wine cellar a warm, natural feel.
